{"id":453,"date":"2020-07-09T18:10:08","date_gmt":"2020-07-09T22:10:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/councilgreatlakesregion.org\/2020\/07\/09\/virtual-great-lakes-economic-forum-dialogues-slated-for-fall-2020-upcoming-events-address-water-food-systems-circular-economy-energy\/"},"modified":"2024-11-16T14:04:50","modified_gmt":"2024-11-16T19:04:50","slug":"virtual-great-lakes-economic-forum-dialogues-slated-for-fall-2020-upcoming-events-address-water-food-systems-circular-economy-energy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/councilgreatlakesregion.org\/virtual-great-lakes-economic-forum-dialogues-slated-for-fall-2020-upcoming-events-address-water-food-systems-circular-economy-energy\/","title":{"rendered":"FALL 2020: Upcoming Virtual Dialogues to Address Water, Food Systems, Circular Economy &#038; Energy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>\u201cSeek first to understand,\u201d said Stephen Covey, in his groundbreaking work, <em>Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, \u201c<\/em>Then to be understood.\u201d Some thirty years later, it\u2019s still true, and the purpose of establishing a series of dialogues for the Great Lakes Region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Starting in September, the Council of the Great Lakes Region will take the sessions originally intended for the Great Lakes Economic Forum, the 2020 in-person event in Chicago which was postponed due to Covid-19, and convert them to virtual round-table discussions.&nbsp; Even in the midst of a global pandemic, CGLR remains committed to providing a forum in which leaders from business, government, non-profits, and academia can gather to bring diverse perspectives to focus on increased understanding of issues toward developing shared solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The list of issues of highest interest to participants\u2014all of whom will have an opportunity to contribute their expertise\u2014will form the basis of the specific sessions.
